We have had problems opening SeqScape projects quite a number of times, and are wondering as to why this happens? We get an error message and a pop-up window asking us to check log files for further details. We are not sure as to where this log file and therefore have had to delete the project, create a new one, and upload all the sequences once again. This is not only time-consuming, but also causes unnecessary stress and irritation. Would be grateful if you could let us know as to why this happens and if possible, a solution to retrieve the project instead of deleting and creating a new project again.

This is a problem with SeqScape, not with your computer or your operating systems (or project files). According to changelog releases, this issues was present in the version 2.6 of the application. You will need to update the software to its latest version to be able to overcome the problem. The cause to this problems the character & present in the ROI name. Access the official website, log-in with your username and password, then download the software and updates.

In order to fix the problems, go to Start, open Control Panel, click Uninstall a program, select SeqScape from the list and press Uninstall. Follow the on-screen instructions, reboot your computer, run a registry cleaner and install the software again. If the issue persists, use the Contact Us page to get in touch with the support team.

We are buying a new Macintosh machine for analysis purposes. Can we run SeqScape in Mac?
The application is available for the following operating systems:
• Windows® XP Professional OS, Service Pack 2 or 3
• Windows® Vista 32-Bit Business Edition, Service Pack
In Mac you will need to have Windows installed via BootCamp or Parallels Desktop.
